With its comprehensive curriculum, Hoopstars is a fun and exciting child development program that helps children develop balance, coordination and fine motor skills while learning the fundamentals of basketball.
Each class will feature age-appropriate instruction based on our progressive curriculum, and our experienced coaches focus on the effort being made rather than the result of that effort. Our staff strives to help children reach physical and emotional milestones throughout each session of Hoopstars.
Our classes work to help speed a child’s development in athletic avenues as well as social situations. Some topics that are covered in Hoopstars include: hand-eye coordination, listening to directions, understanding boundaries, teamwork, balance, social awareness, and fair play.
The Intermediate Steps program will give kids a better understanding of the essentials of the game of basketball. Dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and the all important first step on offense will be introduced to young basketball players in a fun-loving atmosphere. Short, noncompetitive games will emphasize the skills learned in class and will encourage team play.
Premier Steps is designed for players who want to improve their individual and team skills. Areas of concentration include ball-handling, shooting, team play, 1-on-1 skills, rebounding, defensive position, team defense, cutting and setting picks, foot work, post player moves, skills development drills and mental preparation. Premier Steps will stress fun, fitness, and fundamentals, as well as develop confidence, composure and concentration.
Our innovative program combines all of the fun elements of soccer and basketball into one exciting class for your budding athlete. This instructional class will combine 25-minutes of soccer and 25-minutes of basketball games to develop basic coordination, individual skills and teamwork. Parents can actively participate by encouraging their child’s development through social interaction. Or parents can simply drop their kids off, relax, run some errands, and let the coaches do all the rest.
